According to the most recent statistical data published by the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, it has been established that the average gross salary paid in January 2025 amounted to RSD 148,440, while the corresponding net salary amounted to RSD 107,476. This represents an increase compared to the average salaries for the same month of the previous year, when the average gross salary amounted to RSD 132,372 (net RSD 95,836).
The nominal growth, referring to the statistical increase in gross and net salaries without adjustment for inflationary movements, stands at 12.1%, whereas the real growth, calculated by taking into account consumer price indices as an indicator of inflation, amounts to 7.2%.
Furthermore, the median net salary—which, as a statistical indicator, represents the value that divides the total number of employees into two equal parts, with one half earning below and the other above that amount—amounted to RSD 83,031 in January 2025. This figure may be interpreted as a reflection of the actual wage distribution structure within the labor market, without being unduly influenced by extreme values that may affect the calculation of the average salary.
