Changes in the Financial Statements Register – What You Need to Know!
The Ministry of Finance has adopted amendments to the Rulebook on the Conditions and Manner of Public Disclosure of Financial Statements and the Maintenance of the Financial Statements Register (“Official Gazette of RS” No. 97/2024). These changes, effective January 1, 2025, introduce significant updates to the processing, publication, and storage of financial statements, starting with the financial year 2024.
What’s New?
The Serbian Business Registers Agency will publish data from accurate financial statements on its website within the Financial Statements Register within 60 days of receipt.
The new Rulebook also requires the disclosure of information about the individual responsible for preparing the financial statements. If an individual has been incorrectly designated as responsible, the Agency will also publish a statement from that individual pointing out the error, ensuring transparency.
Obligors can request the replacement of publicly disclosed financial statements if they identify incorrect information about the responsible person. Such a request must include a statement from the legal representative explaining the cause of the error.
Why Are These Changes Important?
The new rules establish a more transparent and efficient system for processing and publishing financial statements, making it easier for all stakeholders to access relevant data.
