The Association Renewable Energy Sources of Serbia has published the ” RES Serbia Guidebook for Investors in Renewables in Serbia”, created with technical support from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). This guide serves as a comprehensive resource for investors, providing insight into the current landscape of renewable energy in Serbia. It covers essential topics such as the regulatory framework, environmental protection, permitting processes, funding sources, and incentive systems.
As legal advisors specializing in energy and ESG aspects, we recognize the importance of a thorough understanding of the complex regulations and procedures necessary for successful energy investments. The guide addresses key areas such as business models, financing, development and construction stages, operational activities, and an overview of applicable tax obligations. One of the guide’s authors is Nenad Jovanović, PhD, Senior Energy Modelling Consultant at Mott Macdonald S, a long-standing client of ours.
With Serbia’s renewable energy sector growing rapidly—as evidenced by completed wind and solar power projects—the government continues to implement measures to further stimulate investments in sustainable energy, aiming to secure additional capacity and strengthen the stability of the energy system.
Our office keeps track of all changes in the legal framework and is pleased to provide support to investors in all legal and regulatory matters. Given the frequent regulatory updates in this field, we are available for consultations to ensure project implementation complies with the latest requirements and to help investors take full advantage of Serbia’s growing renewable energy market.
